A non-specialist academic incubator

The incubator is intended to bring together start-up projects developed at all of the schools in the IONIS Group. However, this does not mean that it is not also open to projects developed externally.This being the case, the incubator can accommodate projects relating to all fields of entrepreneurship, from big data to biotechnologies, and even media, culture and e-commerce.

IONIS 361 today:

• A 6-month, twice-renewable incubation programme
• Access to an innovation space spanning nearly 1,000m²

• The provision of infrastructure including Wi-Fi access, printers, photocopiers, telephones, etc
• A mentoring service with key entrepreneurial figures

> An incubation network with its foundations in Paris

Across the Group's various campuses (Paris, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Nancy, Nantes, Nice, Rennes, Strasbourg and Toulouse), a total of nearly 3,000m² will be devoted to IONIS Group student and alumni innovation by 2017.

The beginnings of this valuable multi-school incubation network, the only one of its kind on the French innovation landscape, can be found at the very heart of Paris, at the Group's Creative and Digital Campus. It forms part of a space spanning nearly 1,000m² comprising dedicated and well-equipped premises, a student co-working area and an events space overlooking the city. The network will begin to provide support for start-ups as of January 2016.

Pre-incubation, design thinking and training: a new approach for students

IONIS 361 is more than just an incubator for start-ups; it also strives to instil a truly enterprising and innovative dynamic within the schools in the IONIS Group by establishing close ties between students from the various campuses by means of the following:

• multi-school co-working areas dedicated to pre-incubation and design thinking and working in synergy with the incubator itself
• multi-school events involving incubated start-ups and students
• internships and student projects undertaken within the framework of IONIS 361

This system will serve to reinforce the existing dynamic that reigns across the various campuses in the framework of entrepreneurship modules and even the Club des Entrepreneurs.
